Majority of the Muslims are non-native Arabic speakers because of which they have to resort to the translations of the Quran and its teachings. However, even good translators find it difficult to translate the special terms of Arabic. In regards to the Quran and Sunnah, the slightest mistake by a translator and he may face the promise of punishment.

Therefore, there was a need to compile an Islamic dictionary of Arabic words with their translation and their usage according to grammar. What are the meanings of the Arabic words used in the Quran and Sunnah? What are the special terms of the Arabic language and what are their meanings and concepts? What is the correct synonym for Arabic words in English and does this word have the same meaning as the Arabic word conveys?

These questions have been answered in the book titled Dictionary of Islamic Words and Expressions which is a Unique Islamic dictionary in English of Islamic words and expressions used in the Quran & Sunnah and other Islamic works by Mahmoud Ismail Saleh.
