Overview:

The Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ are the primary sources of Islamic religion. To preserve the Ahadith of the Prophet ﷺ, scholars have rendered services from various angles and perspectives. The compilation of Hadith began during the Prophetic era, grew during the times of the Sahabah and Tabi'in, and flourished during the era of the great Hadith scholars. Various Hadith scholars compiled numerous collections of Ahadith, and later, scholars worked on summarizing, explaining, verifying, and annotating these collections. Some scholars also gathered Ahadith under specific themes according to the circumstances. One such theme is the "Ahadith of Ahkam" (the Ahadith related to rulings). In this regard, notable works include Imam Abdul Haqq Ashbili's "Ahkam al-Kubra", Imam Abdul Ghani al-Maqdisi's "Umdat al-Ahkam", Allama Ibn Daqiq al-Eid's "Al-Allam fi Ahadith al-Ahkam", and Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani's "Bulugh al-Maram min Ahadith al-Ahkam".
