What "Interpretation of the Meanings" Means
No translation can fully replace the words of Allah in Arabic, so this work is called an interpretation of the meanings rather than "the Qur'an in English". The translators render each verse into English and, where a verse needs context to be understood correctly, add a short explanation in brackets or a footnote. These explanations are drawn from three classical commentaries, Tafsir At-Tabari, Tafsir Al-Qurtubi and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, together with relevant hadith from Sahih Al-Bukhari. This is why the cover describes it as "summarized in one volume": you get the translation and the key points of the classical tafsir together in a single book.
How Each Page Is Laid Out
Each page shows the English translation and the Arabic verses side by side. The Arabic is set in its own column next to the English, with verse numbers, so you can follow the original text while reading the meaning. The page header gives the surah name and the Juz (part) number, which makes it easy to find your place during recitation, in a study circle or in a lesson at the masjid. Longer explanations appear as footnotes at the bottom of the page, so the main translation stays easy to read.

About the Translators
Dr. Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali (1893–1987) was a Moroccan-born scholar who studied at Al-Azhar University and the University of al-Karaouine, taught Arabic at the University of Bonn in Germany, and later taught at the Islamic University of Madinah. Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan (1927–2021) was a physician who served in Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health and at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital, and directed the clinic of the Islamic University of Madinah. He is also known for his English translation of Sahih Al-Bukhari. Their joint translation has become one of the most widely distributed English translations of the Qur'an in the world.
The Same Translation Distributed in Makkah and Madinah
The Al-Hilali and Muhsin Khan translation is the English translation printed by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an in Madinah and distributed to pilgrims and masjids around the world. The copies sold here are Darussalam's own editions, published in Riyadh, in a choice of sizes and bindings that the free distribution copies do not offer.
How to Read It
Many readers begin with the surahs they already recite, such as Al-Fatihah and the short surahs of Juz 'Amma, so the meaning connects straight away with their prayer. Read a passage in English, look across to the Arabic, then read any footnotes for the context. Reading a page or two each day is a simple way to complete the whole Qur'an with its meanings over the year.

This Quran has references to the tafsirs that are used for verses which are not clear in the Quran. It also has the Arabic and the transliteration of what it sounds like to help.
There were some verses which were not accurately described in other Qurans but this Quran is a lot more truthful to the translation and sources which really helped me learn more about Islam. -
